Relationship between serum uric acid and estimated glomerular filtration rate in adolescents aged 12-19 years with different body mass indices: a cross-sectional study

چکیده
Background Globally, chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a growing public health concern. Serum uric acid (SUA) an easily detectable and readily available biochemical indicator that has long been recognized as independent risk factor for CKD. In addition, studies have indicated potential relationship between SUA body mass index (BMI). However, on the effect of levels estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in adolescents with different BMIs are very rare. Methods Weighted multiple regression analysis was used to estimate log-transformed eGFR. Additionally, we weighted generalized additive model smooth curve fitting describe nonlinear relationships subgroup analysis. Results First, negatively associated eGFR even after adjusting all covariates (β=-0.0177, 95% CI: -0.0203-0.0151, P<0.0001). Second, results stratified found covariates, decrease due changes per (Per 1, mg/dL increase) elevated female -0.0216, -0.0138, P<0.0001), aged 12-15 years (β=-0.0163, -0.0200, -0.0125, P<0.0001) black (β=-0.0199, -0.0251, -0.0148, adolescents. Furthermore, higher BMI had levels, significantly underweight (β=-0.0386, (-0.0550, -0.0223), Conclusion 12-19 years. first time affects differently BMIs. This particularly significant

The Relationship between Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate and Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the leading cause of visual impairment and blindness in working-aged people. Several studies have suggested that glomerular filtration rate (GFR) was correlated with DR. This is a hospital-based study and the aim of it was to examine the relationship between the GFR and DR in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). We used CKD-EPI equation to estimate GFR and...
متن کاملassociation of serum uric acid with body mass index: a cross-sectional study from jiangsu province, china.
body mass index (bmi) has been demonstrated to be associated with serum uric acid (sua) level in many developed countries, however, there is still a lack of large sample study in jiangsu province, one of the most economically developed regions in china, where fat-rich diet is common.through retrospective analysis in healthy subjects, we determined the association of bmi with hyperuricemia risk....
متن کاملEstimated glomerular filtration rate.
The recent article about estimated glomerular filtration rate (GFR) by Levey and colleagues (1) is remarkable. The authors suggest that the new equation may still have some bias and especially may have less precision in patients with GFRs greater than 60 mL/min per 1.73 m 2 . This is even more important if the GFR is greater than 90 mL/min per 1.73 m 2 . In the paper's Methods section, Levey an...
متن کاملDecreasing serum uric acid levels might be associated with improving estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in Japanese men
The link between changes in a subject’s serum uric acid levels and his estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was evaluated in Japanese men. We used data for 108 Japanese men (45.3 ± 8.0 years) with a 1-year follow up. eGFR was defined by a new equation developed for Japan. eGFR was weakly correlated with serum uric acid levels (r = –0.287, p = 0.0026) at baseline. Subjects were given advi...
متن کاملComparisons between validated estimated glomerular filtration rate equations and isotopic glomerular filtration rate in HIV patients.
OBJECTIVE Understanding how best to measure renal function in HIV-infected patients is critical because estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in HIV-infected patients can be affected by ethnicity and body composition. We validated the available eGFR equations and compared them to the plasma Tc-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Tc-DTPA) clearance in HIV-infected patients. DESIGN Test o...
